Before creating a demonstration check that a similar one does not already exist.

Choose a clear and descriptive name for your demonstration before starting.

When entering the page name:

  • Use only lowercase letters.
  • Do not use punctuation.
  • Replace spaces with underscores.

E.g. “Elephant's Toothpaste” becomes elephants_toothpaste

Editing instructions

General Information
  • Please add as much detail as possible.
  • Administrators may delete or edit a demonstration if it duplicates an existing one or is inappropriate.


Formatting

  • Ordered list items (1., 2., 3. etc.) are made with space space dash.
  • Unordered list items (bullet points) are made with space space star.
  • Or use the list buttons in the editor.
  • Use \\ for line breaks.
  • Subscripts (<sub>, </sub>) and superscripts (<sup>, </sup>) are available.
  • Comments about the demonstration that won't be published can be made with /* (start) and */ (finish).

  • Page Name: Must follow the format demonstrations:page_name (where page_name is what appears in the URL).
  • Categories: Select 1–5 relevant categories.
  • Summary: A clear 1–2 sentence description of the demonstration. Example: 30% hydrogen peroxide is added to a potassium iodide catalyst, detergent and food colouring, and oxygen bubbles rapidly produce a foam.
  • Materials Description: Choose the star rating that best suits the demonstration.
  • Materials: Must match the chosen Materials Description rating.
  • Difficulty Description: Choose the star rating that best suits the demonstration.
